San Antonio gears up
for Texas-Sized Festival!

The San Antonio Parks Foundation, along with the City of San Antonio, produces the annual New Year’s Eve event, Celebrate San Antonio in downtown San Antonio.

This FREE event features something for everyone including music on THREE stages and special entertainment areas for children and families. Celebrate San Antonio attracts approximately 250,000+ people to the downtown area. Most hotels report sellouts and local restaurants are at capacity during New Year’s Eve, thanks to the event and its popularity.

The San Antonio Parks Foundation is proud to be able to contribute to the San Antonio economy by hosting this event for locals and out of town visitors who have traveled in for the holidays and the Valero Alamo Bowl on December 30th.

CNN camera crews have been on site to show viewers all over the world our Texas-Sized Celebration! Additionally, has ranked downtown San Antonio in the top 50 New Year’s Eve destinations at number 34, between Sydney, Australia and downtown Los Angeles. The San Antonio Parks Foundation views this ranking as a milestone for the City of San Antonio and for Celebrate San Antonio.  NBC’s affiliate WOAI News4 SA airs the countdown and fireworks live each year!

There is no other New Year’s Eve event of this size, with fireworks offered FREE to the public in the state of Texas.

With live music, thousands of excited revelers, fireworks and entertainment for the entire family on tap during Celebrate San Antonio, this event has grown in popularity each year. The huge downtown fiesta begins at noon in historic La Villita. Great food & beverages can also be found on S. Alamo Street between Market and Cesar Chavez Blvd after the official opening at 5 p.m.  The highlight is the countdown to midnight and the spectacular Fireworks Extravaganza showcasing the Tower of the Americas.  Admission is FREE and open to the public and festivities continue until 1:00 a.m.

The San Antonio Parks Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide enhancements to the parks of the City of San Antonio and the County of Bexar which improve the quality of life for all of our citizens.
