About the San Antonio Parks Foundation

The San Antonio Parks Foundation, located in San Antonio, Texas, is a 501 (c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide enhancements to the City of San Antonio’s parks system which improve the quality of life for all its citizens.  Organized in 1981, the foundation works closely with the City of San Antonio’s Department of Parks and Recreation.  Funding for parks projects is provided from foundation and corporate grants, individual gifts, and from the proceeds of three large events which the Parks Foundation co-produces with the City, including Celebrate San Antonio (the New Year’s Eve downtown celebration), July 4th Celebration in Woodlawn Lake and Jazz'SAlive held in Travis Park.  The San Antonio Parks Foundation also produces Fiestas Fantasias at Market Square, a 10-day Fiesta event.  The Fiesta event is the only event produced solely by the Foundation and is not city sponsored.

During the past 25 years the foundation has funded park projects in all areas of San Antonio, Texas. Click here to view our Mission Statement
